Barney is a lovely boy and a very happy chap. He is good with people, loves human touch and pines for attention! He always wags his tail when he see's you.
He is a very handsome dog with a beautiful rich chocolate coat and unusual amber eyes. He is a good hearted dog and has won the hearts of many of our volunteers. Everyone says he's a star and he has quite a fan club!
Barney was quite poorly and had a tough time. He had rehab for quite a few months and part of his recovery was physio and exercises. He made great progress and is now fully recovered which you will see from the videos below.
Thanks to the wonderful care given to him by his carer he is just like any other dog....running and playing happily...fit as a flea with his mojo back!
Type: Labrador cross
Date of birth: 2012
Rescue date: 2012-05-01
Treatments: None - in good health
Beau was found stray and in a terrible state on Camposol A Sector.
He recovered well and we must say that, despite whatever was in his past, Beau has proved to be a gentle and very calm dog who just loves to be in human company.
Perhaps because of his past life Beau does not like to be dominated or be given 'strong' commands from men during his walks.
He would also prefer to live as an only dog in a quiet environment and is looking for a gentle and loving home to match his own personality. Beau loves to be cuddled, enjoys his walks and is very clean in his kennel.
Beau is vaccinated, micro chipped and neutered.
This is Ben. He was picked up today (Oct 2017) when found by the motor way at El Pareton, He is a very friendly boy, okay with other dogs as he was introduced to his rescuers dogs. He is between 1-2 years old. He has going into boarding kennels and will be checked over by our vets. He is a very pretty boy and a mixed breed medium size dog.
Here is Bobby! He was picked up by a local resident on Sector A found wondering around the campo. He was very thin with a bad skin condition, but he has been nursed back to good health by his fosterer.
He roughly 6 years old.
An update from his foster home:
"Bobby was in a terrible state of health when rescued on A Sector, Camposol in September 2017. After a lot of medication and care he is now enjoying life again.
He is a small (8.5 k) Jack Russell type breed with Black/brown & white markings. Due to damage of his front teeth his age is difficult to estimate but would suggest (because of mannerism & agility) he is between 5 and 7 years old.
He is a very friendly and a clean and loving dog. He loves human contact and gets on well with all other dogs. He thoroughly enjoys his walks and is no problem on the lead. Loves to be cuddled and enjoys his home comforts. Fully house trained, He has now become a very happy and playful boy who will make someone a very obedient and loving companion".
Boy came into rescue as a 6 week old puppy. Sadly there are always so many puppies looking for homes and Boy missed his chance, grew into an adult and has spent all his life waiting for a second chance and a lucky break.
Boy has grown into a very handsome and well grounded dog indeed. He has a lovely personality and his outstanding quality is his truly wonderful nature – we can’t fault it!
Boy would like a chance to prove himself in a home – that’s all he asks.
Type: Mixed Breed
Date of birth: October 2009
Rescue date: November 2009
Treatments: None - Boy is fit & well
A Spanish couple called us to say that a stray dog was outside their villa. They brought him into our vets and needless to say he wasn't chipped. They kindly paid for his micro-chip & parvo test which was negative.
He is now a Noah's ARC dog & looking for his forever home. Brian is about 12 weeks old and a Mastin X - he has now gone off to a kennels while he waits for someone to spot him and offer him a home.
Bud by name and Buddy by nature!
Bud has all the loveable traits of a Staffie type cross and he is very affectionate by nature. He is keen to be his new owner’s best friend!
He is a lively boy who is looking for a dog experienced and active home with time to give him the mental and physical stimulation he would relish. He walks well on the lead and travels well in the car.
Type: Staffie Cross
Date of birth: 2012
Treatments: None - in good health. He has been neutered.
Recent arrival CARLOS is about 3 years old. He had been roaming over camposol for about 10 weeks. He has been very hard to catch, but after weeks of being fed by a local resident who he had started to trust, and a few pills, she finally got him, thank goodness. He is a beautiful boy. He has been to the vets to be checked over and seems in remarkable good health which is mainly due to the feeding station. He has been treated for tics and we are waiting for the results of his blood tests. Once we have the all clear from the vets he will be neutered and then put up for Adoption. if you are interested in giving him a forever home please get in touch.
Buster is vaccinated & microchipped. He is brilliant with children and that's how we caught him - he was playing with 3 lads. Buster is in excellent/athletic condition. He is brilliant/very friendly, responds to commands and has no aggression towards other dogs and people. He walks well on the lead but will run off when lead is off, comes back on recall. Because Buster is very active he needs to come to a young family because he needs lots of stimulation. He is not cat friendly, but he is a very loving happy chap.
Type: Labrador cross (72 cm)
Weight: 28 (kg)
Date of birth: 15/01/2013
Rescue date: 2015-02-21
This is Charlie the Pointer. He was found on Camposol, C2 Sector and had been spotted for a while in different places. Fortunately people on C2 started to feed him and he gained in confidence and hung around. We tried to catch him but he wasn't ready to be rescued so we treated him with leishgard to protect him. Later we got a call to say that Lesley had managed to get him into her garden as he was so so tired. He slept all night and we managed to pick him up the next day. He is now safe and in kennels.
Charlie was checked over by our vets and we are delighted to say that he tested negative for leishmania. He is healthy and the next step is getting him neutered before he is homed.
Chico walks well on the lead and is totally house trained. He has mastered all basic training and is ready to go. He needs a good home with lots of love because he is an amazing dog. Two words sum Chico up ... he is Fun with a capital ‘F’ and kind.
He was born on the 30th May, 2014 and all his vaccinations (including rabies) are up-to-date. He is also micro-chipped and has been neutered.
Type: Mixed Breed
Date of birth: 30/05/2014
Rescue date: 10/11/2014
Clyde came into rescue with Bonny when they were just 4 months old. They both had a tick infestation and their ears were heavy with ticks to the point where their heads hung down!
He is now around 2 years old and still waiting for someone to fall for his cheeky grin!
Clyde is very friendly with people and other dogs. If you are interested in offering Clyde a home please get in touch via our Facebook page or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Corrie was found on Mazarron Country Club having been shot, he has been to the vets and is now in foster and is a happy little chap, fine with some other dogs but is not good with cats.
Corrie has a lot of the traits of a Maneto Podenco, he is stubborn, (has selective deafness!!) and loyal. He is fine 90% of the time but can turn snappy for no reason, not bitten but will snap with teeth bared, so will not be going to a home where there are children. We have no idea what the trigger is, he can be playing happily and suddenly he will turn snappy at the dog he is playing with or other dogs in the vicinity.
If you feel you can help by either fostering or adopting Corrie we would advise no other dogs and he is not good with cats.
Type: Traits of a Maneto Podenco
Date of birth: June 2013
This is Dancer and he has led us a merry merry dance! We first had reports about Dancer before christmas via Sue Lewis, one of our Committee members. Her friend had told her about him and we went to look for him but there was no sign. He then turned up on Mazarron Country Club and we fed him through the time of the gota fria. Then he went to another area and a friend of our rescue, Julie Jones, fed him for a few months till the villagers shoed him away! Then he went off again and turned up at Camposol near Colin Thackwell!
Finally a trap was put out for him and he was caught and brought into rescue safety.
Despite his nomadic life he would love a permanent home of his own, to belong, be love and cared for.
Duke is around 8 months old (D.O.B. June 2017) and is back in rescue through no fault of his own.
He is a typical pupster that just needs to have some training and guidance. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a home with time to put in some effort to turn this clever boy into the great dog he should be.
Duke is not likely to grow much bigger in size. He was a little nervous when these photographs were taken but once out walking he started to feel more confident. Could you offer this pup a home and the chance to shine?
Picked up on Condado - more details coming soon! If you are interested in offering Eddie a foster please or forever home please send a personal message via our Facebook page or email: Potential adopters will be subject to home check prior to adoption.
Fabio is real character – a young playful Alfa male! He was a stray and being fed by a volunteer, but was getting up to all sorts of mischief and was at risk of being run over so was brought to the refuge for his own safety.
He is generally fine with female dogs and has lived in a kennel with other dogs, but has sometimes caused a few problems with males as he is dominant.
This beauty has never been in a house and still has some things to learn, but he is highly intelligent and picks things up quickly.... he is very smart!
Fabio is a stunning young dog, very affectionate towards people, good with children and as you would suspect not good with cats! He loves his walks.
Fabio is a cross Galgo / Labrador and is Leishmania positive.
Franko the brother of Fletcher, Milly and Missy.
Type: Rough coat mixed breed
Height: 50 (cm)
Date of birth: 24/06/2013
Rescue date: 01/10/2013
Freddie is a very young dog - only about 11/12 months old. He ran out of nowhere in front of his fosterers car late one night. He has been with me her for nearly two weeks and she has given us the following update on him.
Freddie is boisterous but very intelligent. He is inquisitive about everything. He hasn't had any training, but he has already learned the command to SIT, for a treat of course! He sleeps in a crate and is very good at night. He loves his walks although he does pull so some further lead training would be needed.
He is house trained and goes to the toilet outside. He gets on well with Ferris, his fosterers other dog and they play together, but he tends to be too boisterous for some other dogs.
He loves his food and toys. Freddie doesn't mind travelling in the car, but he's always reluctant to get in. He hasn't met any children yet, but we suspect he'd be fab although might be better suited to older children because of his lively nature.
Freddie is booked in to be neutered and micro-chipped.
This poor old boy was found in this terrible state on Percheles Beach by a couple of our volunteers. He was unable to walk without help and he is in appalling condition. We wondered if he was that same dog that was reported to us at the end of last summer (2016) who was begging for food and drinking sea water. We had various people go to search at that time but sadly couldn't find the dog.
He was rushed to the vets and went on a drip for 24 hours while they ran tests on him. The results of those tests meant that we had just caught him in time.
He was called Guy. Fortunately we were not too late for Guy who was a serious case of long term neglect. In the first 24 hours he refused food, but drank and still managed a little wag of his tail for his rescuers.
Guy has been lucky and has had some much needed TLC and rest in a loving foster home. We don't think he would have made it without their kindness and dedication. He has greatly improved and is now enjoying life.
VIDEO: Guy in foster - 13th November -
Guy is now ready for adoption and we would like him to have a special home where his every need is paramount to make up for the life he endured pre rescue.
Meet Hobo! Hobo is a small to medium sized boy and just over a year old. He is very friendly and gets on well with with other dogs. He loves to play, his walks and cuddles in no particular order - just lots!
He is looking for his forever home. If you are interested in offering Hobo a home please contact us via our Facebook page or by email to email@example.com. Any potential home will be subject to home check.
Hugo was found dodging cars on the Mazarron Autovía when a Noah's ARC volunteer stopped and rescued him and took him to safety. He is a big, docile and friendly giant who would like to live in a home as the only pet. He loves a sofa and a cuddle despite his size.
Hugo munches his way through 2 kilos of food a day as he was very underweight when he arrived. He couldn't quite believe his luck at being fed twice a day in rescue! He is now micro-chipped, vaccinated and has been neutered.
Age: approx 5 years old
Weight: around 65 kilos
Breed: Mastin cross
Henry was found on A Sector, Camposol on Valentine's Day! He had fallen in a supporters swimming pool! She tried to catch him but he jumped the wall. So she left her gate open and a bed, food and water for him. The next day the food was gone and another neighbour reported that he had him in his garden. We then took him to our vets, but he was not micro-chipped.
Jasper was found with his brother Matrix on Camposol. He is more outgoing than his brother but has settled in well with his brother in the pen together with 3 girls. They all get along and play just fine with each other.
Jasper can be strong minded and quite jumpy when you first meet him but does settle down quickly. He loves his fusses and cuddles like most dogs and really looks forward to his food. He is still not keen on a lead at the moment and can get a bit stressed, off lead he enjoys running around free. He listens when called and will be a lovely pet to someone. He is good with other dogs and cats and he is easy to travel with.
Ludo came to the refuge a couple of weeks after his siblings had been bought in. He was only 8 weeks old when he was found at the side of the road. He is a happy go lucky boy who has bags of energy and can get very excited when he sees you. This boy has so much love to give to a special person who would like a lively boy in their lives. He is good with dogs and cats and to travel with.
Date of birth: November 2012
Rescue date: January 2013
Treatments: Ludo has been tested and is Leishmania positive. He is on medication.
This is Major, a German Shepherd cross who is about 6-7 years old. He was found on Camposol. He has a old fracture injury to his back leg, but this does not stop this happy go lucky happy boy! He gets on fine with other dogs and is needing that forever home or a foster home, if you think you can offer him one please get in touch.
Meet Mesi the new kid on the block! He is two and a half years old and now unwanted. Mesi is a sweet little boy and great with other dogs and he passed his cat test with flying colours. He will be neutered and fully vaccinated. Call 699352818 if you would like to offer him a home.
Micky is 10 years old and finds himself in rescue late in his life. He was surrendered to us by his owner who said he didn't get on with her puppy! We have found Micky to be an extremely gentle boy. He is now in kennels while he waits for his forever home. He will make someone a delightful companion and friend.
Mo has just come back to us. He was happily homed by us and through no fault of his own finds himself looking for a new home once again. The previous owners have had to return to UK and have nowhere for him to go. So they asked us to take him and Charlie (who has now been rehomed) back and we were lucky and so were they as they have gone back to their original fosterer!
Mo is a big strong boy but has had some training and is pretty good on a lead, more training and he will be a great companion.
He is a year and half old now, fully vaccinated, chipped passported and he will be neutered next week.
Was brought to Camposol by an family and were seen trying to find somewhere to tie him up and leave him. A member of the public called Noah's ARC and after talking to the owner they said they couldn't keep him because he was too lively for their small child. We agreed to take him before they abandoned him again maybe somewhere not so safe. Nano has been in foster now for some time and really needs a home of his own, he is quite a dominant boy with other dogs, he is very loving with people.
Type: Shar pei cross
Date of birth: 06 Jan 2014
Treatments: None - Nano is in good health and has been neutered.
Monty was found as a stray on Mazarron Country Club. He still had a chain around his neck and a wire collar embedded in his neck. A visit to our vets and a full MOT and Monty is as good as new and ready for his forever home!
Monty is a very loving boy and seeks out affection. He is extremely obedient and trots back to his kennel when he is called - he is happy to oblige! Monty is shy of a collar and lead which we think is understandable and stems from his past and time spent on a chain. He would probably be much happier on a harness. We would love Monty to go to a home with space for him to amble around to his hearts content and enjoy his freedom.
Type: Spanish Mastine
Date of birth: October 2011
Nobby about 1 years old. He was found running around the campo, and had been chasing and killing a farmers chickens, The farmer told our kennel owners, if he sees him, he will shoot him! Our Kennel owner spent a month looking for the dog, but could not get him then the farmer caught him and luckily handed him over instead of shooting him.
He is a shy boy, gets on well with other dogs and walks well on a lead (best on lead to keep him away from Chickens)!
If your interested in giving Nobby a home please get in touch.
Oscar arrived in November and is now 7-8 months old. He is a crossbreed. Unfortunately the elderly couple who were going to adopt him decided that a pup is too much for them and are considering an older dog. Oscar is a happy chappy - a playful and stong pup who needs some training and a chance to shine. He is an intelligent boy so should learn his lessons quickly. He already sits for treats!
Raffe was rescued from Las Palas. He arrived at the gate of a family, but they had dogs so couldn't take him in. But they have helped together with a lady called Jose by paying for his castration and dew claw removal. He is around a year old and we believe a Mastin cross. He is now ready for his forever home.
Rascal is a large male blonde & grey Labrador. His owner died and Rascal was by his side for about 5 days before anyone discovered them. He is our loyal elderly gent who is looking for a kind and relaxing retirement home! His idea of heaven is a home where he can sleep near to his owners or even better ..... on the bed! He will re-arrange the bedding until it is just so and suck on his blanket! He is a loving, caring kinda guy and he loves a fuss!
He loves to potter around in the local field, but doesn’t like his collar pulled and he is very strong on the lead. That aside he reacts well to commands and has good recall so off lead is not a problem.
Rascal will sing for his supper when he thinks its tea time – he has his own internal alarm clock when it comes to food and it’s usually accurate! He is food possessive so needs to be managed by feeding him on his own.
Rascal is indeed a rascal when it comes to cats so he needs a home without felines! He would also suit a home as an only dog or living with another dog of a similar size – small dogs are not really his thing either.
Reyes is an attractive boy with the golden Shepherd mix colouring and a dark muzzle. Reyes means ‘King’ or ‘Royal’ in Spanish and he definitely has the look of a special dog.
He walks well on the lead and is a very loving and friendly boy. His aim is only to please and he will impress you with his obedience – he knows the ropes well and is easily managed. Reyes is happily sharing his kennel with his buddy Bruno.
Type: German Shepherd cross
Date of birth: November 2010
Treatments: None – Reyes is in good health
Rocco was found in a terrible state - starving and neglected - in a hamlet on a very hot day, trying to get into a finca garden to get some water. He was taken to the vets and tested for Mediterranean diseases and was thankfully negative.
Rocco listens very well to English commands and is good with other dogs. He is still a little food protective which is likely due to the fact that he was left behind to die, without food or water. We believe this behaviour will dimish with time and trust.
Rocco does not like cats and will chase them. Otherwise he is a very calm dog, undemanding and seems used to a family life.
Rocco is neutered and micro chipped.
This is Roly! He came into Noah's ARC as a puppy and was rehomed. He is now up for rehoming through absolutely no fault of his own.
He is small-medium in size and dog friendly - one of the pics shows him with the other resident dog who is a Miniature Pinscher and was his friend. He is now in a foster home while he waits for a forever home to spot him.
Roly is a dear cute dog and we would love to get it right for him and see him settled in a nice home.
More details to follow shortly.
Any potential home will be subject to a home check prior to adoption. If you are interested in offering Sergeant a home please get in touch via our Facebook page or by email to
Scooby Scooby Dooooooo - we love you! Scooby is a lovely dog with lots of fun energy. He loves long walks and his favourite thing is squeaky toys!
He is a young dog and our volunteers are enjoying giving him some training. He must have already had some training in the past because he knows sit and if you say steady he stops. They cannot help but smile at this beautiful boy.
Still young, playful and wanting to please. Always Happy!
Shylo is indeed a shy boy with strangers but he is a loving and obedient boy with a playful side. He loves to run around the field playing with his siblings and doggie friends. He is good with other dogs and travels well in the car.
Type: Labrador cross
Date of birth: April 2012
Treatments: None – Shylo has leishmania, under control with medication.
Sirius was found running down in the middle of the road to Fuente Alamo. He was covered in ticks but was not thin and did trust humans. Sirius has no tail but is not docked, been neutered and is not house trained. He is very nice and is good with other dogs, children, loves to play and cuddle. Sirius walks well on the lead and has got a lot of energy so he would like longer walks. He likes to hunt rabbits and to dig but he will run off if the lead is taken off from him. He is very intelligent.
Type: Spanish Sheepdog (56 cm)
Weight: 22 kg
Date of birth: 15/7/2014
Rescue date: March 2015
Meet Snowie. He was found on the Cartegena road near to Islan Plana by a Spanish couple. They kindly took him to the vets to check for a micro-chip but none was found and wormed.
They then took him to our Port shop. We have had him checked again and our vets have taken bloods and treated him for tics and fleas.
Snowie is a very gentle boy and around 18 months old. He has gone into boarding kennels and if no one steps up to claim him we hope that he will go into foster until we can find him a forever home.
Spot was rescued from the local perrera and was homed to a couple in a home with another pup (Baylee - also available for adoption).
The couple have since returned to the UK and returned both dogs to Noah's ARC.
Spot will be two years old in July 2018 and he is good with other dogs.
Spot has been let down by his last owners so his next home has to be his forever home - he needs his chance to shine!
Spud was found outside a local stables by the historic mines dumped in all likelihood when he was a couple of month old. He is all skin and bones! He was taken in by a kind lady and she cared for him and built him up, but now its time for him to come into rescue as no-one lives at the stables.
Spud has been checked over by our vets and has a clean bill of health. He is ever so friendly with people, dogs and horses as he loves galloping by the side of them. He would love a home with space so he could run.
Spud is around 7 months old.
This is Syd, picked up off the side of the road by one of our volunteers in September 2013, he was extremely thirsty and drank a litre of water, also thin had a nasty wound on his back leg and was taken to the vets who operated and cut away a lot of dead skin and fixed him up, sadly enough Syd is diagnosed with leishmania. He is on medication and is doing very well, loves to run, and play. So a family who loves to play with him and go on long walks would be ideal for this gorgeous boy.
Syd gets on with any other dogs and has a good recall. He loves all the attention and enjoys the cuddles that he gets. He is a very good natured dog.
Type: Mixed Pointer (?) Breed
Date of birth: February 2012
Rescue date: 1st September 2013
More details to follow. If you are interested in offering Taz a home please get in touch via our Facebook page or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Any potential home will be subject to home check prior to adoption.
Teddy was picked up on Camposol and taken to the vets. The vet believes that he has been abused and kicked. He has also been attacked by another dog while living rough on the campo.
He is responding well to kindness - he is a sweet boy.
He will have his vaccinations and be neutered in preparation for a home.
If you are interested in offering Teddy a home please get in touch via our Facebook page or by email to email@example.com.
Any potential home will be subject to home check prior to adoption.
