Fostering dogs saves a lives!

Urgent Appeal NOW !

Following our recent spate of rescues we are now desperate for your help, we have two options, short term and longer term. Our Galgo rescues are already committed to homes in Belgium, and while the paperwork is completed we need homes for 4 to 6 week periods in order to complete this prior to their departure. Alternatively choose any dog from the web site and we can arrange for that dog to be fostered by you.

These dogs could be with you for a few days or as long as you can manage since we would wait for an adopter to come forward before re homing the dog. All we ask is that if you are unable to keep the dog for any reason such as a visit to the UK you give us as much notice as possible in order that we can arrange alternative care.

If you already own a dog and are uncomfortable about introducing a new dog into your home temporarily then let us help you with our qualified behaviourist with 14 years of experience. She can also help with any aspect of behaviour issues and is very capable with helping from a wide variety of problems from aggression to barking.

Foster care consists of providing a safe, loving, temporary home for a dog until a permanent adoptive home can be found.Foster care consists of providing a safe, loving, temporary home for a dog until a permanent adoptive home can be found. All dogs are screened for health and temperament before entering our program. We can only rescue as many dogs as we have foster homes!

We provide food, basic supplies, veterinary care, and guidance. You provide the love, training and home. The dog provides you with love, joy, and the satisfaction of having saved a life. Some of the foster home responsibilities are:

  • Be willing to provide a temporary foster home from rescue to adoption.
  • Be patient and understand that all dogs are rescue dogs.
  • Notify us immediately in the event the dog is sick or lost.
  • Take the dog to medical appointments and adoption events whenever possible.
  • Keep us informed about your foster dog's personality, quirks, behaviour, etc. Your input is invaluable for describing the dog on the website and to potential adopters.
  • Treat the dog as a member of your family.

We welcome foster homes that work to find permanent homes for their foster dogs. We do understand that parting with the first dog is the hardest, but the rewards for saving lives are beyond measure. Please, if you really care about local animals and want to really make a difference then call us and discuss how best you can help us help the dogs.
