Jake
This handsome, 12 month old guy, was found very dehydrated and hungry in the fullheat of the sun
struggling along the road with obvious injuries to his back end and covered in ticks and crawling with fleas
poor boy, we took him in and bathed him 3 times with insecticidal and for a week we were sweeping up
dead ticks off the floor every day, how he coped with all that and the injried is a miricle.
Jake was taken to the vet and xrayed to see the extent of the damage to his hips, the vet thinks it was an
impact injury which happened when he was about 3 months old and has healed with one leg slightly shorter than the pther
and advised to leave as he has lived with this injury and would be too traumatic to break and reset and one
leg would alwasy be shorter than the other. This does not stop Jake from livig a full and active life
he loves to run around and play, like to collect 'things' but as yet does not appear to be distructive.
Gets on very well with other dogs, is a great Guard dog, but at the same time not at all aggresive, just wouldn't want
to go into a garden unless I knew him! He sure looks the part.

Ira
|
Ira, Brindle greyhound rescued from Fuente Alamo, Ira was being fed by Marion at the
Dog Bowl, she has a badly broken leg, an old injury and is very timid. Noahs decided we could not leave this
poor girl to suffer with a bad leg as she would not be able to hunt and catch food. When she was eventually caught
we discovered 3 pups with her! so all came into NA and are in a safe place in foster care. Ira, which means watchful,
not only had a badly broken back leg which had become infected but also on her 'good' back leg she had lost 2 nails
and they too had become infected as well as a bad open sore on her chest, how she managed to walk a mile to Amrions
shop and a mile back to her puppies most days is a miracle and shows how determined and resilient these beautiful
creatures are The pups are now growing extremely quickly with regular food and water,
t please call Paul, our rehoming officer, details below.

Mac
|
This poor 3 month old boy, Mac, was found trying to crawl on the road,
no visible exterior injuries but he cannot stand up, we thought he had both back legs broken,
he screamed uncontrolably when picked up,immediately given pain killers to ease his pain.
He has been taken to the vet hospital in Alhama where the traumatoligist will review the xrays
and advise if he can be saved.
UPDATE - It would appear that Mac has broken vertabrea buut not sure yet is spinal cord has been broken
he is going in for an MRI scan this week (12/06/2011) so will advise if anything can be done for him when we get the results.
He is a lovely little chap, we think small GSD cross, will need special attention and is in desperate need of a foster home
initially or a forever home. If you can help Mac Braveheart please call Paul, our rehoming officer, details below.

PANCHO was found tied to the security office of a local Golf Resort by the couple who adopted SATIN.They were told that he was found wandering on the golf course and that they had rung the dog pound in Murcia to collect him where he would probably have been given 48 hours to live.Kathy rang me to ask if we could help ,we obviously said yes.

Milo

NEW ARRIVAL ,10 month old, Milo became very nervous and went beserk
when we tried to get a collar on him.We then tried to tempt him with food and tranquillisers
but he was too nervous to take the bait, eventually managed to get a loop lead
on him and forced him into the Rescue van to go to the vets.
On arrival he came straight out of the van but again went beserk desperately trying to
bite through the rope and in doing so bit his tongue. With the Vets help we managed to
give him a tranquiliser jab in the car park and he soon went to sleep.
Despite a massive Tick infestation he tested negative for both Erlichia and Leishmania.

Savia
|
NEW ARRIVAL , This is Savia – she is blind!
She was found by a Spanish girl and was living in a field near to the old
mineworks on the outskirts of Mazarron. Noah’s Arc went to the field where
they eventually found SAVIA laying in the sun. When they got near her she
immediately got up and they could see that she had cataracts on both eyes.
Unfortunately when they tried to put a collar and lead on her she took
flight. One hour later they managed to catch her.
As well as being blind she was covered in fleas and ticks. She was taken
immediately to the vets where she was tested and proved positive for
Erlichia and borderline for Leishmania which can hopefully be cured with
tablets. They are looking into the possibility of removing the cataracts and
restoring her sight. Savia is currently receiving one-to-one care in foster.

Heidi
Poor Heidi
was rescued from Camposol, very tired
and struggling to walk, somewhat
dehydrated but with no visible injuries
apart from sore feet. However, she
screamed in agony when we tried to pick
her up but eventually managed to
get her into the van without too much
further discomfort.
After doing
usual tests she was sedated and x-rays
were taken which revealed around 30
shotgun pellets in her back legs and
back. The vet was unable to remove all
the pellets but she is now well on the
way to recovery .
Heidi is Approx 5 to 6 years old, blood
tests were negative for Leishmania but
showed a slight trace of Erlichia for
which she is being treated.
As you can see
from the updated photo, Heidi is making a
fantastic recovery and loves to walk and play
If you
would like to give Heidi a safe and loving home
when she is fully recovered -
