Luca is a Spanish Galgo (Born) and fully vaccinated. This boy was found in El Pareton where he had been for two days curled on the pavement before anyone called for help for him.
When this poor boy came in to us he had difficulty standing on his front legs, both his legs and feet were badly swollen and he had cuts and grazes down his body. It is thought that he was knocked down by a passing car

X-rays were the order of the day and although he had no badly broken bones, to our horror, and that of the vet, we found that he had been shot with an airgun and he had MANY pellets in both front legs from the elbow to the toes. He had been shot at close range. There are so many pellets the vet has said that they will have to stay in as to take them out will cause more stress, pain and suffering for the poor boy.

His legs will heal in time but he will never hunt (possibly why he has been shot) he will make a full recovery within a few weeks but will show signs of his ordeal by possibly having a limp.
Luca is recovering well with one of our foster carers, he is still friendly and trusts people.
