My Rescue Prayer |

"Now I lay me down to rest
I pray my soul can stand this test
Of watching puppies lose their homes
Through owners gripes and cries and moans
I long for strength of spirit when
I pray they'll find a home again
Where they will know a loving heart
I can't do much, but it's a start........
And spare me from the owners pleas
About the baby's allergies
Or how the place is just a state
Or spitefulness 'tween cat and mate
Please keep me sane while dealing with
The woman who bought as a gift
A wriggling tiny ball of fluff
That now is playing way too rough
Remind me I should bite my lip
When confronted with, "he grew too quick"
"I didn't know he'd get so large"
"He seems to think that he's in charge"
Protect my heart when I hear them say
"I think we'll breed our dog one day"
Sometimes I think it'll break in two
Each day brings trials harsh and new
And if I die before I wake
I pray a hopeless soul you'll take
My tears are gone, my faith is bare
Please hear my rescue prayer." |
Many animals are subjected to cruelty and neglect. Here are some
articles about animal cruelty that have occured in the Murcia region
of Spain.

Oz Kennels, Happy pets, and Noah's Arc has been involved in trying
to help bring the perpetrator of these crimes to justice. The court
date has been set to the 30th of June. Once judgement has been made,
Oz kennels along with other rescues and ourselves shall assist with
whatever we can in an attempt to help these dogs from their prison.

This 3-minute
film was made to graphically show the kind of work and images we
are facing every day at the sharp end of our rescue mission. Although
in England we have our fair share of Animal abusers, even the average
animal loving Spaniard would probably admit that many of his fellow
countryman are some of the worst abusers of animals in Europe.
This is a brief portfolio of our work, and the last half of the
video is a selection of dogs that are now re habilitated and well!

In April this year 2009 we spent more
than 4 hours rescuing a greyhound that had been thrown into a well
some 30 feet deep.
She survived but has phsycological problems that will take at
least a year or even more to repair. Spain is the cruelest nation
on earth when it comes to greyhounds. The dog serves its owner for
a few years then he discards it with less emotion than killing a
mosquito |
