Adopt a Dog
A
dog requires all the love and care that you would give to a child.
When you take on a dog there is inevitably a responsibility that
goes with it.
These bills can add up- and the range of costs that they can incur –includes
feeding, vet bills - regular inoculations, general health etc.
They need time - walking and training so that you can control them, and most responsible dog owners will clean up after them should they be not walked in the countryside.
They need company - so it is important that you are able to spend time with
them.
Dogs are pack animals and they look to you to be the leader of the pack. If you do not give them enough attention (walking, affection, discipline) they may try to take over as pack leader and become less controllable.
Walking is key for your dogs overall disposition. This has the
advantage of bonding with your dog whilst giving you exercise at
thew same time!
If you are still interested in adopting a rescue dog and you think you can give it the exercise, discipline and affection it needs, please take a look at the dogs we have to re-home, or contact Andrea on 699 352 818. She will ask you some simple questions about your environment in order that you find the right dog for your circumstances. You will also want to ask her some questions to ensure you get the right dog for your needs. For instance a person requiring a guard dog should never consider a greyhound since these are some of the friendliest dogs to own and rarely bark!
